Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a versatile opacifier that produces interesting surface and color effects and often produces crystaline mattes.  Tends to promote microcrystalline formations in glazes; produces Cobalt greens and Copper red purples.  2% added to glaze can give microcrystalline formations and interesting colours.
